My 8 year old daughter wore these boots all winter long to school here in the Northwest. They are darling, comfortable, and uber-stylish, but the patent leather is a bit fragile and scuffs fairly easily with playground wear, which makes them look battered fairly quickly (since you can't really repair scuffed patent). The soles were non-skid and sturdy, but after several months of heavy wear, the soles peeled away from the boot. Some shoe-glue reattached them, but they never looked quite as good after that. By the end of the school year, the boots were totally worn out, with the zipper separating from the leather and the soles worn through. These are expensive boots for a child, so it was a bit disappointing to have them wear out before she grew out of them, but the 6+ months of wear she did get out of them (almost daily), made them worth the cost. Plus, she LOVED these boots.
